Iao Valley
< Iao Valley west of Kahului
Yesterday (Tuesday) we drove up to the Iao Valley. It's about a 15 mile drive west of Pa'ia. The Iao Valley is an erosion valley on the western part of Maui, important in the history and culture of the Hawaiian people. The terrain is amazing - and nearly impossible to capture by camera. See photo, left. The valley is now a national park, and the walks are very easy. Several fern species new to DN were spotted.

Wow. I didn't realize you guys had known each other THAT long. First, I'd say it's time for the next FW book. And second, I can highly recommend relationships with co-authors. :D
Third, I'd just like to say this sounds like the most lovely journey... and I'm thrilled for you both. :) Congrats and keep posting!
Stef.
Hi Stef! It's been wonderful so far.
We're on our way to Lahina today. You'd adore the Ala Moana Mall in Honolulu. Everything from Armani to Prada, open air, with flowering vines and trees hanging all over.
